Seven out of 10 people interviewed (67%) said they consciously avoided visiting so-called `hip' town centre bars. And almost half (49%) were under 24!

Huddersfield's young people in the know are turning away from `fashionable' bars in their droves, citing them as unfriendly (60%) and anonymous (66%).

Most of those questioned said they didn't like to feel pressured into going to the places to be seen (81%), branding them `full of posers' (69%).

And 80% said that if they did visit this type of bar they felt conscious that they were being judged on their appearance.
