More than 100 scouts from across parts of Huddersfield have had an action-packed weekend.

They were all from Huddersfield South West District Scouts and were at Bradley Woods Scout Camp near Brighouse from Friday night until this afternoon.

The 120 cub scouts aged from eight to 10 included youngsters from Golcar, Milnsbridge, Longwood, Newsome and Crosland Moor.

Explorer scout leader Daniel Haigh said: “Next year is 100 years of cub scouts and this year has been designated the year of adventure. So to mark both we have put on 100 activities this weekend ranging from water fights to toasting marshmallows and learning about disability.”

The district always needs more adults to get involved and Daniel said this could even be helping every now and then. It doesn’t have to be a weekly commitment.
