A PARISH council by-election is being spiced up by a candidate from the Monster Raving Loony Party.
But Boney Maroney, deputy leader of the national party, said there was a serious intention.
She is desperate to get a pedestrian crossing in her home village of Honley.
Boney - real name Melodie Staniforth - said the crossing was really needed.
She is standing for a seat on Holme Valley Parish Council in Honley Central, where Liberal Democrat John Hicks has quit.
The poll is on Thursday, October 28.
* A former teacher will stand for the Liberal Democrats in the Dewsbury consituency at the next General Election.
He is Kingsley Hill, a former deputy head at Castle Hall School in Mirfield.
He stood for the seat in 1997.
Dewsbury is held by Labour's Ann Taylor, who has decided to stand down at the next election.
