TWO local sports clubs have “won” the Lottery.

Both have been awarded grants from Sport England to develop new initiatives.

The Nova Bowmen Archery Club in Cleckheaton has plans to expand and has been awarded funding to purchase new beginners equipment and storage facilities for it.

The new equipment will help the Bowmen to run beginners and taster sessions around the region – with the aim of attracting new members to their club.

They have been awarded £1,517.

Brighouse Cricket Club wants to develop an under 11’s cricket team for young people from local schools.

The funding of £8,340 will help set up the new team which includes coaching costs, starter packs and equipment.
