A KIRKBURTON beautician is on cloud nine after getting a high- flying job.
Louise Blagborough, 22, has been chosen from 5,000 applicants to provide beauty therapy services to first-class customers on Virgin Atlantic planes.
Former Shelley High pupil Louise said the job has always been her dream.
She added: "From 5,000 applicants we were whittled down to two groups of 16 girls. It was a bit like Pop Idol.
"We had to go through in stages. Thank goodness Simon Cowell wasn't there!"
After undergoing personality and proficiency tests Louise was given the green light for take-off.
She said: "When I found out I had got the job I was over the moon.
"It really is a dream come true.
"From starting out doing beauty courses this is what I had always wanted.
"A future colleague of mine has already told me she met Jude Law's girlfriend, Sienna Miller, on a flight from back from Miami. I can't wait."
Before starting her new job later this month Louise returned to the White Rose School of Beauty on George Street in Huddersfield town centre, where she spent a year gaining qualifications, to talk to current students.
Alison Leonard, White Rose's office manager, said: "She was great with the current students and she was wonderful when she was here. We wish her all the best."
