WANNABE model Samantha Harwood catwalked her way into the final of a national competition.

The 20-year-old Linthwaite beauty was one of 126 contestants to be picked from 15,000 entrants in the prestigious Face of Divinity contest.

She will travel to London next month to battle it out for a prize worth £10,000 at the swanky Millennium Hotel in Mayfair.

She said: “I’m still in a bit of a daze. It hasn’t really sunk in and I don’t think it will until I’m actually there.

“I’m fairly hopeful about my chances. But just being in the final and being able to meet lots of people in the industry will be worth it.”

Samantha, who works at jewellery shop Bliss in Huddersfield’s Kingsgate Centre, made it to the final after advancing from the northern heat of the competition in Manchester.

She was one of 30 hopefuls to beat off competition from about 100 contestants.

And there was a further accolade for her when she was named Best Dressed Model in the heat.

She said: “When they announced who had got to the final they didn’t read my name out, so I started crying because I was gutted.

“But then they said I’d won the best dressed prize and I was through.

“When I went up on stage people thought I was crying because I was so happy!”

She added: “I can’t wait now. As soon as I’d come off the catwalk in Manchester, I wanted to go straight back out.”

Samantha will compete in the under-21s section of the final on November 11.

The winner will appear on the cover of Every Model Magazine and also get to experience the model lifestyle, including appearing at the Clothes Show in London.
