PART of the M62 was shut down in Huddersfield this morning after a van crash.

Police had to shut both carriageways of the busy motorway after a van crashed and overturned, shedding its load of Lucozade drinks across both carriageways at Outlane.

Officers and Highways Agency staff were able to re-open the westbound lanes within 20 minutes but the eastbound carriageway remained closed 30 minutes after the 11.20am crash.

It is thought the van driver escaped with minor injuries.

Traffic queued back to Junction 21 at Milnrow on the eastbound lanes.
