Police are on the scene after a crash on the M62 between J21 A640 (Milnrow) and J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).
Traffic will be affected for the next two hours according to reports.
A fuel spill has also been reported by National Express on social media.
They said: "M62 Eastbound J21-J22 Milnrow, Two lanes closed due to an accident and fuel spillage, services are diverting to avoid delays."
Highways England said the crash, between an HGV and a car, was expected to clear between 12.30pm and 12.45pm today.
But it's since said the accident could take a lot longer to clear.
It's now saying it could be after 1pm before normal traffic conditions resume.

A crash involving a lorry and a car caused severe delays for motorists on the M62 near Huddersfield today.
The accident happened on the eastbound carriageway between junction 21 (Milnrow) and junction 22 (Rishworth Moor) just after 9.30am.
Police said the lorry was blocking part of the carriageway, and two of the four lanes had to be closed for more than two hours while the accident scene was cleared.
The incident affected traffic heading from Manchester towards Leeds, and lengthy queues quickly built up.
No-one is thought to have been seriously hurt.
Easing
Reports coming in that congestion is now starting to ease after the accident was cleared.
But it will take some time for traffic to return to normal.
