Chaos hit rush hour commuters on the M62 yet again this tea-time.
A woman's car broke down in the middle lane of the westbound carriageway near Outlane at 4.50pm, causing lanes to be closed and long tailbacks.
Other drivers got out of their cars and helped the woman to get the vehicle on to the hard shoulder before police arrived.
The breakdown and falling snow caused hazardous driving conditions, resulting in severe congestion. It was reportedly taking drivers an hour to get to Junction 25, Brighouse, from Junction 22, Rishworth Moor.
The situation was not much better in the opposite direction, where a number of incidents were reported.
On the eastbound section between Brighouse and Junction 28, Tingley, there were delays of 40 minutes caused by an accident.
And drivers travelling between Junction 21, Milnrow, and Junction 24, Ainley Top, suffered delays of 20 minutes due to sheer volume of traffic.
