Overnight and evening closures are to cause diversions for FIVE weeks for motorists on a stretch of the M62 .

The Highways Agency is to begin resurfacing work from Monday between junction 22 (Rishworth Moor) and junction 23 ( Outlane ) on both carriageways.

The work will take place overnight on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways, and is due to be completed by March 21.

But there will be hold-ups for many drivers.

In order to carry out the work it will be necessary to carry out lane closures on the M62 main carriageways and on the slip roads at junction 22.

The closures will take place from 8pm each evening until 6am the following morning.

When the junction 22 eastbound entry slip road and westbound exit are closed, a clearly signed diversion to M62 junction 21 and back to junction 22 will be in place.

Only one slip road will be closed at a time.

The Highways Agency say they will continue to to ensure disruption to traffic and residents is kept to a minimum.
