A TEENAGE magician has teamed up with his sister in a bid for success at two major competitions.

Michael Jordan, 13, and sister Siobhan, 16, of Scapegoat Hill, have reached the final of the British Junior Magical Championships and the final of J Day, an annual contest run by the national Magic Circle's Young Magician's Club.

The Young Magician's Club competition will take place at the Magic Circle headquarters in London on October 24.

The British Junior Magical Championships will take place on November 13 at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Michael and Siobhan have battled through heats in both competitions to reach the finals.

Michael - a semi-professional magician - has been a member of the Northern Magic Circle for nine months and is also a member of Huddersfield Magic Circle, Merlin's Magic Circle in Wakefield and the Young Magician's Club, based in London. Siobhan joined the Young Magician's Club several months ago.

Their dad Mark and mum Geraldine will be watching the siblings take part.

Mr Jordan said: "Michael has been making a name for himself and is doing well with his magic.

"Siobhan is really into acting. She recently joined Huddersfield Thespians and is doing the magic to improve her stage skills."

Siobhan and Michael have been perfecting their act at Paddock Village Hall and have been giving previews to local community groups.

They will also perform at St Bartholomew's Church in Meltham on Saturday at a harvest celebration in memory of a member of Huddersfield Magic Circle who died last year.
