Paul Daniels steamed into Huddersfield Railway Station this afternoon to perform some of his trademark tricks.

The TV magician was in Huddersfield as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations for First TransPennine Express.

Daniels, who sprang to fame with the The Paul Daniels Magic Show in 1979, has been a hit on our screens for more than 30 years- most recently appearing as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and on All Star Mr & Mrs with his wife Debbie McGee.

The veteran celebrity last appeared in the headlines when he severed the top of one his fingers as he was working in his garden shed.

In typical fashion he joked afterwards: “I've lost the top of my ring finger on my left hand. I'm not getting married again. I may try to get a prosthetic finger.”

Paul assured fans after the incident that he would not be hanging up his cape and hat, saying: "Some of the magic will be adjusted but the deception will remain the same. The show will be just as silly as it ever was."

In tribute to the great man we've complied a picture gallery, above, and pulled together videos of his most magic moments, below.
