A young man needs specialist facial surgery after he was attacked with a bottle.
He underwent surgery yesterday afternoon after being viciously attacked with the bottle in Newsome.
The incident happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Wednesday across the road from the Simply Food and Drink store on Church Lane, Newsome.
Det Insp George Bardell, right, from Kirklees CID said: “Just before the assault the suspect has gone into the store and bought a bottle of wine.
“After leaving the store he has then taken a swing with it at a 20-year-old man.
“It is not clear at the moment what the motive was.
“The suspect is of a similar age.”
“The victim suffered facial injuries and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
