A 23-YEAR-OLD man suffered head injuries after he was hit in the face with a baton in Netherton.
Now police have made an appeal for witnesses.
The attack happened when the man was walking along Mercer Close, close to the junction with Meltham Road, when he was struck by a man with a baton.
He was also sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.
The victim was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary following the incident on April 24 at 10pm.
Three other men and two vehicles, a burgundy Renault Clio and VW Bora estate car, are known to have been in the area at the time of the incident.
A man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.
