Detectives investigating a “targeted” shooting incident in Dewsbury have arrested a 24-year-old man.

Police were called to a house in Burgh Mill Gardens at around 9pm on Saturday following reports that a shot was fired.

The house was occupied but no-one was injured.

Officers have since carried out enquiries and a 24-year-old man has been arrested.

Police stress it was a targeted attack and there was no need for alarm.

Det Chief Insp Stephen Snow, leading the inquiry, previously said there was “no risk to the general public” but patrols had been stepped up to offer reassurance on the streets.
