Eyewitness account of the collision
One local resident has described how her friend saw the crash.
Yvonne Thompson said:
“My friend Pat was waiting at the next stop to go into town on the 356 bus with her friend and they seen it happen. She said he just walked out in front of the bus. She saw blood on his face afterwards and was shook up about it. She thought it must be bad if they had to send an air ambulance. I hope the poor guy’s alright.”
Man taken to LGI with "possible head injury"
The man hit by a bus has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary with a suspected head injury, the ambulance service say.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said they were called at 10.35am to reports of a person being hit by a bus.
“We sent two rapid response vehicles, one ambulance, a hazardous area response team and the air ambulance attended. The patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with possible head injuries.”
