A QUICK-thinking man saved a health centre from possible disaster.

Arsonists had set fire to a large wheeled bin under a window at Brighouse Health Centre on Lawson Road in Brighouse at 7pm last night.

A 20-year-old man, Chris Cleaver, had just arrived to pick a cleaner up and spotted the blazing bin.

He managed to wheel it away from the building before firefighters arrived - and they have praised him for his actions which may have saved the health centre.

Brighouse fire station watch manager Mick Holbrook said: "The bin was well alight when we got there and if it had remained next to the wall the fire could well have got into the centre through the window and swept through the centre.

"Mr Cleaver was very quick-thinking and did a great job moving the bin."
