A car driver was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after a crash in Huddersfield.

He was hurt following a collision close at the Hillhouse traffic lights, to The Slubbers Arms pub in Bradford Road last night, when three others were hurt.

Police say the accident took place at 9.30pm and involved a Seat Ibiza and a Ford Mondeo.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The male driver of the Ibiza was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with a head injury that is not life-threatening.

“There were four casualties altogether including a child who suffered a bump on the head.

“A set of traffic lights were also damaged and a garden wall demolished.”
