A Honley man has been banned from entering every UK branch of a supermarket after stealing from it.

Darren Moorhouse, of West Avenue, pleaded guilty to theft from Morrisons in Waterloo on May 27.

Kirklees Magistrates’ Court heard that he took a bottle of Jack Daniels whisky and food valued at £54.

The 49-year-old was witnessed helping himself to the goods before being caught as he tripped up at the exit.

His solicitor Sonia Kidd explained that he had no income after his benefits were stopped.

District Judge Hales also heard that Moorhouse was an amphetamine user.

He adjourned his case until July 8 for a full report to be prepared.

Moorhouse was ordered not to enter any Morrisons store in England and Wales in the meantime.
