A man broke his bail conditions because he went to his ex-partner’s home to help her tidy up, a court heard.

Dale Hood, 30, of Hall Cross Road, Lowerhouses appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in Huddersfield yesterday.

The court heard he was phoned by his ex-partner, who wanted his help to tidy their former home because she was due to show prospective tenants round it.

Karl Kingsley, defending Hood, who appeared via video link, told the court the defendant was found vacuuming at his former partner’s home and there was no suggestion of any arguments or disagreements between the pair.

Hood admitted he had breached his bail conditions, which were made in relation to an alleged assault on May 15.

He was granted conditional bail not to contact his ex-partner. The case will next be heard at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on August 21.
