A MAN has appeared in court accused of conning his way into an elderly woman’s house to steal from her.
Andrew Cauley, 36, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday. He is accused of entering a property in Beech Court, Quarry Road in Marsh, and stealing three rings and cash.
The alleged offence took place on November 2 in the early afternoon.
Cauley, of Layton Road in Brentford, Middlesex, denies the charge. He will eventually face trial at Leeds Crown Court.
First he will appear back in the Huddersfield court on January 3. He was granted bail.
