Man in court after breaking Huddersfield town centre ban

A PADDOCK man was hauled before court after breaching his bail condition.

Rory Watson is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court charged with robbery.

It is alleged that on Viaduct Street near the town centre branch of Tesco he approached a man and asked him for money.

He is then alleged to have grabbed hold of the man and rummaged through his pockets, taking two bank cards.

Watson was bailed by police to appear before court with the condition that he kept out of the town centre.

However he was arrested and remanded in custody after being found in the same area.

District Judge Marie Mallon scrapped the condition, telling Watson that she felt it was ‘inappropriate’.

She instead warned him to abide by a condition not to contact the complainant.

Watson will appear before the crown court on January 13.
