A MAN has appeared in court after drugs were found on him following his arrest.

Dominic Scoon, of Westfield Court, Dalton, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis on July 14.

On that date he was arrested on Trinity Street on suspicion of a public order offence.

The charge was dropped but Scoon was found with the class B drug at Huddersfield town centre.

Linda Fowler, prosecuting, said: “He was taken to the cells and a small bag of green vegetable matter fell from his leg onto the floor.

“That was recovered by the officer and later found to be cannabis.”

In interview, Scoon said that the drugs were worth £10 and were for his own personal use.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £110 fine, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

They also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
