A MAN has appeared in court after driving drunk along a motorway.

Dilwar Hussain, 26, was before Kirklees magistrates sitting in Huddersfield.

He pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving whilst disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.

Hussain was seen driving his BMW on the M62 westbound carriageway at Hartshead on March 11.

He had 92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Hussain, of Salisbury Road in Bradford, admitted all three charges at yesterday’s hearing.

Magistrates were told that it was his third offence of driving over the limit in four years.

It was also his second offence of driving whilst disqualified.

The bench agreed to adjourn Hussain’s case so that a full presentence report could be prepared.

They warned him that they were not ruling out imposing a custodial sentence.

Magistrates also gave him an interim ban from driving.

Hussain’s next appearance before the court will be on April 17.

He was granted unconditional bail until that date.
