A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a pub stabbing.
Colin Ryan, 39, of Whitechapel Road, Cleckheaton, is alleged to have stabbed John Greaves at The George pub in the town centre last Saturday.
He is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
Ryan appeared before Batley and Dewsbury magistrates in connection with the alleged offences and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear via a video link at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday, April 7. Mr Greaves has been detained in hospital and was “stable”.
