A MAN has appeared in court charged with the theft of power cables.
Robert Miles, 34, was arrested after the alleged theft from an electricity sub-station in Church Road, Liversedge. The theft led to a power surge and cut which affected scores of properties.
Miles, of South Parade, Cleckheaton, was charged with burglary and public nuisance when he appeared yesterday before Dewsbury magistrates. The case was adjourned and Miles was remanded on bail.
