A driver was cut free by rescuers after a two-car crash in Mirfield today.

Firefighters from Mirfield and Dewsbury joined Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics to help the man, who was trapped in his Ford Fiesta after the crash.

It happened about 4pm at the mini roundabout at the junction of Church Lane and Flash Lane, close to The Dusty Miller pub.

The fire crews cut off the roof of the car to allow the man to be lifted to a waiting ambulance.

He was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital with shoulder injuries.
