POLICE were today questioning a man over a violent sex attack in Linthwaite.
The 29-year-old was arrested after an image of the suspect was printed on the front page of yesterday's Examiner.
Det Insp Sam Cooke, of Huddersfield CID, said: "Following the appeal in the Examiner we received several phone calls. As a result, a 29-year-old local man was arrested last night."
The man is being held in custody at Huddersfield police headquarters.
The image of the wanted man was compiled by police and based on information from the 24-year-old victim.
She was attacked by a man as she got off a bus on the way home from work on Wednesday.
The incident happened in a wooded area between Slant Gate and Hazel Grove.
She was abducted at 5.30pm, after walking up the steep road on to a footpath beside the wooded area, which borders fields at the top of Slant Gate.
The man left the scene on foot after the attack and the woman raised the alarm.
Specially trained police officers dealt with the victim, who was traumatised by the incident.
