POLICE are hunting a man who assaulted two teenage girls in Paddock.

The two 14-year-old girls, both from Longwood, were with four friends outside the Royal Oak pub at Church Street, Paddock, when the attack happened at 8.50pm on Monday.

They were walking home from Paddock Youth Club and had stopped at a takeaway.

The man drove up to the girls in a car and they told him to go away.

He got out of the car and kicked one of the girls in the back and stomach, leaving her with pain and bruising.

He then hit the other young victim in the face, causing swelling around her left eye.

He then jumped in his car and drove away, before returning to the scene a few minutes later.

However, he did not get out of the car again and drove away.

Police are treating the incident as assault and are looking for the attacker.

Anyone with information about the man or his vehicle should ring Huddersfield police on 0845 6060606.
