A man was hurt in a crash at Grange Moor.

The 25-year-old victim was hurt when his car skidded into the kerb and overturned on Liley Lane, Grange Moor, today.

Dewsbury Green Watch Commander Chris Johnson said the Peugeot 207 driver was given oxygen for shock following the accident which occurred at 13.31pm.

He said: “We put him on a long board used for dealing with suspected spinal injuries. He had a collar on too.

“There was a heavy downpour and the road was greasy. It looks like he has skidded and hit the kerb. One of the wheels was badly damaged.”

An ambulance was called but police said the man did not appear to be seriously injured.

Police closed the road for a time after the crash.
