A MAN accused of assaulting a police constable and failing to surrender to court pleaded guilty to the charges yesterday.

Andrew Baker, 24, committed the assault on March 20 at Huddersfield Bus Station.

And on May 30 he failed to appear at court. As a consequence he was produced from custody yesterday morning.

But he denied a third charge of assaulting Timothy Keenan at the bus station and the matter was adjourned until September 3 when a trial will be held.

Baker, who now lives in Bridlington, was granted conditional bail and is required to attend Huddersfield Police Station between noon and 4pm on September 2.
