A MAN has been arrested after he dumped his vehicle and jumped into a river in a bid to escape police in Huddersfield.
Police confirmed a man in his 20s was located by the police helicopter at around 1pm in Water Street, Longroyd Bridge.
He failed to stop for police and the vehicle was abandoned and he continued on foot, jumping into the River Colne.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said there was a short pursuit and the driver had been recovered – rather wet.
