A man who was arrested over a rape allegation has been released without charge.

But Immigration Enforcement officials have been alerted to the 35-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 23-year-old woman outside the Frontier nightclub on Bradford Road in Batley.

Kirklees Police said that they are not looking for anyone else involved with the serious sexual offence, which left the victim needing medical treatment following the attack at 5am on Saturday.

Det Insp Andy Leonard of Kirklees CID said: “Following a report of a serious sexual assault in Batley on Saturday morning detectives have arrested a 35-year-old man.

“As a result of enquiries he has been released without charge and referred to Immigration Enforcement for further matters.”
