A MAN accused of attacking a woman in Huddersfield has appeared in court.

Ashfaq Mohammed, of New Street in Paddock, appeared before the town’s magistrates yesterday.

The 32-year-old is accused of assaulting Shazreen Akhtar, causing her actual bodily harm.

The alleged attack took place at South Street in Huddersfield on June 17.

Mohammed denies the charge and has elected for his case to be tried at Bradford Crown Court. He will appear there on November 15.

Mohammed was bailed on the condition that he does not contact Ms Akhtar or enter South Street.
