A 22-year-old man was hit by two cars as he stepped off the kerb on Huddersfield ring road today.

Graham Calcraft, a Huddersfield firefighter said: “We were coming back from attending another incident when we received the call at 3.55pm.

“He thought there were only two lanes at the junction of Oldgate and Southgate – but there are three.

“Fortunately, the two cars were only doing 22mph so his head injuries were not serious. We gave him First Aid until an ambulance arrived and took him to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.”
