A man has suffered a broken jaw after he was punched in the face in Deighton yesterday afternoon.

The incident unfolded on fields behind Glenfield Avenue at around 3.30pm when a 57-year-old man approached another man who was walking his dog.

A dispute broke out and during which the 57-year-old was punched in the face.

The victim was treated in hospital for a broken jaw.

The suspect is described as a mixed race male, late 20s to 30s, 6ft tall and with short cropped hair and stubble. He also had distinctive scars on his face.

Det Insp Mark Walker of Huddersfield CID said: “We are investigating a nasty attack on a 57-year-old man at Glenfield Avenue.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man matching the above description, particularly the facial scarring, to get in touch.”
