A man was robbed at knife-point as he went to get into his parked car at his home in Fartown.

The robber shouted at the victim ‘Give me everything you’ve got’ before producing a knife and holding it to the back of his head.

And the terrifying ordeal did not stop there.

After he handed over money from his wallet the suspect was then joined by three more men who forced the victim into his house to get more cash.

The gang-of-four then searched the house and he was forced to show them where he kept some money.

The victim, who was shaken but otherwise unhurt, managed to flee to the bathroom, where he phoned 999 and the gang fled.

The attack happened at York Avenue, Fartown on Sunday evening between 7.50pm and 8pm.

Acting Detective Inspector Ian Thornes said: “The 26-year-old man had left his home and had gone to get into his car when a man appeared and produced a knife.

“He told the victim to hand over cash while holding the knife to the back of his head.

“The victim handed over cash and other belongings before three more males appeared and the victim was forced into the house where he handed over more cash.

“We would urge anyone who may have seen any vehicles acting suspiously in this area at around this time to contact police.”
