POLICE were today continuing to question a man about a murder in Huddersfield’s red light area.

The 23-year-old was detained shortly after Geraldine Brocklehurst was discovered dying from stab wounds in Lower Fitzwilliam Street at 1.30am on Thursday morning.

Police have now revised her age from 39 to 40 and she was living in the Huddersfield area.

No further details have been released about her.

She was known on the streets as Gez.

The investigation is being carried out by detectives from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide And Major Enquiry Team.

Immediately after she was found a massive area was cordoned off by police including the Great Northern Retail Park and the Phoenix Retail Park where PC World is based along with Lower Fitzwilliam Street and part of Great Northern Street.
