HUDDERSFIELD police mounted a manhunt last night after two men fled into woodland from a crashed car.
The men ran off into TP Woods at Gledholt after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a Ford Focus at Greenhead Road, near the junction with Gledholt Bank.
The incident happened just after 6pm, causing disruption to rush-hour traffic as Greenhead Road had to be closed for an hour.
The ambulance service was called to give medical assistance to a toddler in the back of the Focus. It is not thought that the child’s injuries were serious.
At one point the police search helicopter was requested, but it is not clear whether it attended the scene.
