A ROBBERY victim needed surgery to save his ear after he was slashed by a gang.

The 23-year-old was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary after he was attacked in an alleyway behind the Harp pub on Bradford Road in Fartown.

Three men walked up behind the man and one grabbed him around the neck. The attacker pulled out a knife and held it to the victim’s face while demanding his phone and cigarettes, which he escaped with.

He cut the man’s left ear before running off with his accomplices.

The knifeman was white, stocky and in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a hooded top and a scarf covering his lower face.

Police are appealing for information about the attack, which happened at 8.45pm on Easter Sunday, April 4.

Anyone with information should call Det Con Mick Cummings at Huddersfield CID on 01484 436685 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
