A Lockwood man accused of abducting a girl and forcing her into prostitution faces arrest.

Manzoor Hassan, of Bland Street, had been due at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He faces two charges of procuring a woman to become a common prostitute and abducting an unmarried girl aged under 16.

The 36-year-old has two allegations against him of living on the earnings of prostitution.

He is further accused of having unlawful sex with a girl aged under 13 and assaulting her, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

The charges involve the same girl and are dated between April 2002 and September 2005.

The court heard that Hassan may have left the country for Pakistan and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
