A JURY has viewed footage of murder victim Craig Hepburn’s last movements.

The images were captured just minutes before he was fatally stabbed in Marsden.

Scottish piper Mr Hepburn, 19, was seen on CCTV, wearing a blue Manchester City top, and with his pal Conor Paton walked in Argyle Street, Marsden, at two minutes before midnight on July 6.

Prosecutors at Leeds Crown Court say Luke Elliott, 22, and Anthony Driver, 36, came across the Scottish lads, and carried out the brutal attack as they were on there way back to Craig’s uncle’s home.

It was heard earlier in the trial that a 999 call was made nine minutes past midnight after Conor, having also been stabbed, ran to alert Craig’s family who raised the alarm.

Mr Hepburn and his friend had only been in Marsden village a few hours and had been enjoying drinks and entertaining the locals with bagpipes before the tragedy unfolded.

The court heard earlier in the trial both defendants are blaming each other and deny murder and attempted murder.

Elliott told police in his interview he wasn’t with Driver, who said he met two Scottish lads near the cemetery in Marsden on the night of the attack.

Elliott said he left Driver and instead went to talk to his ex-partner’s mum outside the Wine Bank Bar in Peel Street for around five minutes.

He said he then walked to meet up with a group of people and his ex-partner near Fall Lane roundabout and Driver approached and tapped him on the shoulder.

He said he greeted him by shaking hands and he claims he noticed Driver’s hand was bleeding but said he did not ask him about it.

But the court heard further evidence which showed Elliott was not captured on CCTV at three possible locations on the route he told police he took at that time.
