A MAN has admitted assaulting the mother of his child.
Gareth Patrice, 26, of Smiths Avenue, Marsh, pleaded guilty to common assault at Bradford Crown Court.
The incident relates to an offence on May 27, 2010, when he assaulted his former partner Emma Jennings.
But his sentencing had to be adjourned because he was unable to comply with the probation service – he was in custody for a second incident.
On February 13 Patrice breached his bail by visiting Ms Jennings. He broke her mobile phone and was arrested and charged with criminal damage.
On February 24 he was given a conditional discharge by Huddersfield Magistrates. He was also ordered to pay compensation to Ms Jennings.
Yesterday, his sentencing was adjourned so probation could assess him.
Recorder Peter Babb told Patrice that he would avoid prison, with community service a likely sentence when passed on March 21.
