HOT-FOOTED youngster Mason Davenport has become the star of a dance music supremo’s latest video.

Mason, 9, from Dalton, is the sole performer in the video for Armand Van Helden’s new single Ski Hard.

The Moldgreen Community Primary School pupil was plucked from a dance show at Penistone Grammar School in July by producer Dave Aspinall.

In the video, which will be played on top TV stations across the world, Mason dons 80s-style clothing and struts his stuff in a derelict warehouse in Bradford.

Mason and his sister Logan, 13, attend Georgie School of Dance in Shelley.

Mum Cathy Davenport, 39, said: “I’m just so proud of both children and everything they do.

“When his dance teacher rang and asked to pass on our phone number I was jumping around the kitchen.

“Mason gets teased because he dances and this is one in the eye for them!”

World-famous American DJ Armand van Helden performed at Afterparty club night at Bates’s Mill, Queen Street South, in May.

Van Helden’s hits include U Don’t Know Me and a remix of Tori Amos’s Professional Widow.

Ski Hard (featuring Christian Rich) is released on Southern Fried Records on October 13.
