An examination couch linked to killer GP Harold Shipman has been removed from sale.

The old piece of medical furniture had been offered for sale on eBay for £10,000.

Over the weekend the internet auction site is believed to have deleted the item after complaints.

The couch came from the Abraham Ormerod Day Hospital in Todmorden where Dr Shipman started his career as a GP.

It was bought by a nurse in the 1990s.

Shipman, who hung himself in Wakefield Prison in 2004 after being given 15 life sentences for murder, could have killed more than 200 patients.
