MEDITATION has been proved to help stress levels and improve health.
It is a part of Far Eastern disciplines such as Tai Chi and Yoga, as well as central to the Buddhist religion.
Anyone who would like to know more about meditation can join one of two new classes being held in the Huddersfield area.
Buddhist monk Kelsang Dzogden is teaching a drop-in course at Brighouse Rest Centre, Park Row, on Wednesday evenings, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. For further information call the café on 01422 353311 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Dzogden, who is based at the World Peace Café in Halifax, has been practising meditation for eight years. Each class costs £4 and it is not essential to attend every class in the course, which ends on October 20.
Alternatively, healer Rajan Samra, who has studied yoga and meditation, complementary medicine and eastern philosophy, is leading weekly meditation classes at Cote Royd House, Halifax Road, Edgerton, on Thursday evenings, 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
Classes cost £35 for five. for further details calls Rajan on 01484 545457.
