OH, baby, you’re very special arrivals.

Two local babies have the birth date of 12.12.12.

Little Ivy May James made a bit of history when she arrived at The Birth Centre at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

She was the only child born on 12.12.12 – but she cut it very fine, arriving at 11.30pm.

Baby Ivy actually arrived four days late. Her mum Jade, a retail assistant in Top Shop, Huddersfield, has named the 7lb 10 oz tot after her great, great grandmother, who passed away this summer.

Jade, from Savile Park, Halifax, said: “It is amazing to have such a special birthday.

“My dad guessed she would be a 12.12.12 baby. It’s also Frank Sinatra’s birthday, my dad’s favourite singer.

“We are over the moon. And the midwives here have been absolutely lovely. They are fantastic.”

Birkby couple Jadinter and Jaswinder Kang have welcomed a little boy – at the moment un-named – born at 11.45am at Calderdale Royal Infirmary.

Dad Jatinder said: “He was born a few days early, he was due on Saturday.

“But it’s a great date for him to have.”

The couple also have a daughter, Jessica, two next month, who is doting on her baby brother already.
