Frank Worthington has joined the Examiner's winning team.

The former Huddersfield Town and England soccer star begins a brand-new column, To Be Frank, on Thursday.

But before that, we've had an exclusive interview with one of football's original showmen, which starts on Page 6 tonight in the Examiner and continues tomorrow.

Frank's delighted to be writing for his favourite newspaper.

"I've always read the Examiner," says Frank, 54, who lives at Outlane.

"Huddersfield Town was my first club. I signed at 15 and I had great times there.

"My career took me all over. But my biggest affinity has always been to Town."

Frank, who loves to speak his mind on all sorts of sporting issues, is optimistic about Town's fortunes.

He said: "I never felt for a minute that a great club like that could go under.

"Things go in cycles for clubs, there are ups and downs, and this has just been a rough patch.

"They're not on an even keel yet - but it's just a matter of time."

Frank's career spanned 11 clubs and over 20 years.

Now he's a top name on the after-dinner speaking and celebrity golf circuits.
