It will have been a nervous journey for most.
But now this year's school new starters have their first term under their belt we have decided to share their photos with you.
All schools were approached by The Examiner to send in images of their latest intake.
And the results are incredible with some very cute kids in their new uniforms.
We were inundated with images and almost 50 different schools featured.
They stretch from Sheepridge to Birkby, from Slaithwaite to Skelmanthorpe and so on.
And we wish every pupil featured - as well as those who do not feature - all the best as they start out on school life.
