VILLAGERS have been invited to help former soldiers on a special day.
Clr Terry Lyons has helped organise a balloon race in Meltham on Remembrance Day.
The event will raise money for the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.
Clr Lyons said: “It will be 11/11/11 – there won’t be another one for a hundred years. I also think it’s unique that we’re having a joint fundraiser for the two charities.”
The balloon race begins at 11am behind St Bartholomew’s Church Hall.
Entry to the event costs £1.
